Hi CLASHERS!

First I'd like to thank all of you that signed up for this final stretch of proofreading before we send to print. We are honored and overwhelmed by your support and engagement!

Now we need to close the backer kit so we can send the miniatures into production! So this Thursday we will close the backer-kit, add everything up and start melting metal…

If you have completed it and are happy with your choices then no need to do anything. Your order is in. If you have not or if you have changes then please do it by this Thursday June 2nd.

After June 2nd we will continue to receive orders but cannot promise August delivery.

We are so excited to see CLASH of Katanas come into reality. We must admit to be very proud of this next installment of CLASH of Spears and cannot wait to see you all take the field Naginata and Teppo in hand!

Hi CLASHERS!

Clash of Katanas is completed!! It has now moved to the layout phase. This should take about two to three weeks and soon after we will send you your PDF copy even as the book starts printing! Progress is right on time and we still expect to deliver all books and miniatures in August as promised.

Please complete your backerkit! If you already have completed it ignore any additional requests, your order is in and will be delivered in time. If you have not, please do it this week! After that we will close the backerkit and we can no longer promise August delivery to you.

But in the meantime we have something fun to offer to eager CLASHERS. As we go into our last stage we would be happy to get your help in proofreading. Given our very transparent point system any clasher with attention to detail can help us make sure there are 0 mistakes when we send to print.

Those interested in proofreading can sign up (for the next five days) and choose two armies that you want to proof read… we will then send you a proofreading draft of the document in PDF (without layout, so no pictures or art), that includes the rules in full form.

This is fully playable and it includes the final version of the rules, except for any typos or mistakes found over the next three weeks of proofreading.

You will also get a link to a form that you can fill up listing any typos or mistakes that you could have found.

Hello CLASHERS!

A few quick updates as we keep on this Katanas Journey...

1) CLASH of Spears PDF has been delivered!! You should have received your free coupon for download from wargame vault at your email if you purchased CLASH of Spears (as part of the newcomer pledge or as an add on)

2) Raffles were performed and we have winners! If you missed our Face book live here are the results: Backer 060 won the Yamahiro fort from Things from the Basement  and backer 547 won the Japanese castle from Sarissa Precision. 

3) Backer kit is out! You should have it in your email. In it you need to give us your address and complete your order with any additional goodies you'd like.

If you already completed the backer kit please keep reading (otherwise you can ignore the following):

We had a few glitches working with backer kit due new ways that it connects to the kickstarter platform. Initially some of the add-on you selected were not showing up in the backer kit. We fixed that yesterday working with the helpdesk.
We would need to ask you to go an confirm your survey, all your selections should be there but you need to reconfirm. If you had add-ons you should see them there, make sure you did not double add them due to this glitch.

The second glitch is for Daimyo backers. The question about which sets you want did not show up in the survey. You can email us your selection to [email protected] or we will reach out to ask you. Of course it is clear that the expectation is that you can make any selections for these boxes.. you could choose all 4 of the same type if you wanted.

Apologies for these mistakes, it was the first time that we are connecting backer kit to the new version of kickstarter with new add-on options.

4) If you have friends who would like to late pledge please direct them to: https://clash-of-katanas.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders . I recommend they take the basic Samurai pledge and add everything else directly from there.

PDF, Backer kit, Raffle and new goodies coming!

Hi CLASHERS!

Sorry for the long silence, we have been hard and work getting everything ready for production and turning Katanas into reality! We have a meaty update so read ahead...

PDF deliveries:

• CLASH of Spears PDF: Will be delivered to everyone who purchased a clash of spears. It will be a link to wargame vault with a coupon to download it for free. Expect it in your email early next week!
• CLASH of Katanas PDF: Also delivered to your email but it will take a bit longer. We are expecting mid June for delivery

Yamashiro fort and Japanese castle raffles:

• This will happen tomorrow Saturday at 8:30 am! (EDT) We will do it through facebook live at our “the Wargame Spot” FB group. You can join and or watch here: (1) The Wargame Spot | Facebook
• As a reminder the Japanese Castle will be raffled amongst ALL pledgers of Samurai level or above. The Yamashiro fort will be raffled amongst all Samurai or above pledgers that joined in the first 24 hours of the Kickstarter

Backerkit/Survey:

• The backerkit is finished! It has all of the things offered in the KS and more from the extensive Japanese/Chinese Zenit line. It will be sent to you early next week (i.e. by Wednesday).
• For Kickstarter newbies this is where you a) give us your address b) confirm your order c) choose any additional goodies you would love to add to your order d) pay for any additional and shipping.

Shipping and delivery

• As you probably have heard shipping costs have taken a very significant increase which has made it a struggle to keep to the shipping cost chart we placed in the kickstarter. But we really do not like the idea of delivering on something less/more expensive than we promised. So we have worked hard to not have this impact you negatively
• Your total shipping cost for your whole order may increase by 1 to 5 USD (e.g. 1 USD just the book to the USA up to 5 USD for a multibox pledge to Australia) as compared to the chart presented in the KS
• BUT in return to this slight increase we are doing two things:
• If you are Kogashira pledge or above we are adding an additional Character, per pledge, FOR FREE (it has a retail cost of 8 USD). We hope that this more than compensates the slight shipping increase.
• If you are a Samurai or Newcomer pledge we will give you a free download of our CLASH expansion Fields of Blood FIELDS of BLOOD - Fighting Hedgehog | Wargame Vault (with a retail price of 5 USD) which includes solo rules, character skills, urban combat rules, fortification assault rules and more!!
• Still if you don’t agree with this slight increase and free character please send me a PM and we can do a full refund to you.
• We have confirmed with our suppliers, all timing for production and delivery of the kickstarter is still on track and we expect to meet the August date!

Victory! CLASH of KATANAS is coming...

Hey CLASHERS!

Thank you!!! We are honored and humbled by the huge support that CLASH has once again garnered.

As we go through the pledges we see a great number of repeat pledgers that have followed us from CLASH of Spears, which warms our heart as it reinforces CLASH is here to stay for the long run. But we also see hundreds of new comers, willing to take a bet on us and this new instance of our game.

Now it will be all steam ahead in production! We are confident we will hit our timelines and will try to provide you as much additional value as we can, before and after delivery.

Two weeks after close: Is the time KS takes to confirm, collect and deliver all funds. At this point we will:

-Do the raffle! We have both the Yamashiro Fort (from Things from the Basement) to be raffled amongst all early bird pledgers and the Japanese Castle (From Sarissa Precision) to be raffled amongst ALL pledgers of Samurai and above.

-Deliver the CLASH of Spears PDF to all pledgers that have pledged a CLASH of Spears book (whether through the newcomer pledge or as reward add on)

In Three Weeks: You will receive your backerkit pledge manager. For those new to Kickstarter this is where you will inform your shipping address, get the exact shipping costs and add any add-ons you want from the list that you can see at the end of the KS (see backer kit add-ons). It may be ready before but because it has quite a few options we want to be sure it is well done

End of May: You will receive the CLASH of Katanas PDF! So that you can start playing Katanas already and don’t need to wait for the beautiful, printed copy that is coming your way…

August: Full delivery of everything you pledged for! (assuming you submitted your backerkit within a month of it being delivered to you)
