Hi CLASHERS! We are glad to announce that the first shipment of CLASH of Katanas has arrived and SHIPPING HAS BEGUN. The lucky distribution center is the one in the UK.
So if you are a BOOKS ONLY pledger in the UK you should be getting your shipment inthe coming week, or sooner, depending on the royal post. We look forward to your feedback when you see the book live…
UK distribution center shipping out!
The other two distribution centers (Spain and USA) are still waiting for their shipment…which we hope will be getting there in the coming weeks. Main shipment is Spain from where all pledges that include minis (irrespective of destination) will be sent. Our partner, Zenit, has all the orders ready and is just waiting to add the books before sending.
But while we wait for those shipments to arrive and the pledges with minis to go out, we have something to share that will hopefully getting into the game early.
One of our fellow CLASHERS has developed a comprehensive Table Top Simulator module for CLASH of Katanas! So if you have (or download) TTS you can download the CLASH of Katanas module FOR FREE and start CLASHING. We know its not the same as playing on the table…but it’s a great intro to the game
Also if you use DISCORD please join our CLASH channel with several different subject rooms but including a dedicated TTS channel where players (and authors) engage to set up CLASH games of both Spears and Katanas. We hope to see you there!
Finally we are glad to give a shout out to our friends of Zenit miniatures for their upcoming line of Joseon Koreans!! It looks amazing (as everything they do) and provides a new beautiful range to represent this army that has had so little miniature coverage till now. You can check their Kickstarter here:
We have to mention that we have no participation on Zenit’s kickstarter (except as very happy pledgers!!!) and just recommend it as fellow gamers. But it makes us extremely happy to see multiple miniature lines flocking back to this period that we expect to support, expand and enjoy for a long time!

Shipping delay - delivery update + new free digital addition!

Team,
Sad news upfront. We are delayed. We won’t be able to make our August target date and are thinking it may actually slip into October.
To be clear all the miniatures are produced and ready. The books, counters and cards are produced too but their long ship trip is going to take longer than expected and we still have the variable of customs.
When we put our expected delivery dates, we used the timelines of shipping of our last book “Rise of Eagles”, given that ROE was post pandemic and we expected similar delivery times now. Unfortunately, it seems the world keeps breaking and the expected shipping time has increased considerably. Also, candidly, the final iterations and additions to CLASH of Katanas ate a few weeks on our buffer time making this shipping delay directly impact delivery date. (We wanted to be positive of the balance of the extra lists we added, and we really did need the rules for Seppuku and Tea ceremony in there :) )
But with all production complete the only remaining timing risks are logistics and we think this timeline covers that.
Still we do not like just giving bad news! And for those who follow us from before, you know we like to add things when we can. So we are now adding our digital expansion of FIELDS OF BLOOD, for free, to all of you, as a token of our appreciation for your patience and support.
In Fields of Blood you will find:
Rules for fighting assaults on fortifications
Rules for fighting engagements in urban areas (and fighting inside those houses!)
Rules for designing solo scenarios and two ready to play solo scenarios
Two new scenarios including one using the assault rules
New rules to add special skills to your characters
This is one of my favorite clash add ons. We are very proud of what we believe are nuanced and well thought through assault rules (not just "eh let's add walls"). As well as tons of adds to add depth and texture to narrative games. Plus some quite challenging solo gaming...
We hope this will give you something to chew on while we get the printed version of Katanas in your hands!
Fields of Blood will be delivered as a wargame vault link to your email just as the Katanas PDF was…remember to check your spam or let us know if you don’t find it…

Production complete!!! - check out the printed book

Hi CLASHERS! We are excited to report that production is (almost) finished for all game components, book, cards AND miniatures!
I wanted to share video footage of the fully printed book as well as some images of the massive lead production line of the coming Samurai (and monk, and wako, and ming…) hosts.
Now books need to embark to our supply centers so that we can start sending shipments out. As you all know logistics are choppy right now and we are worried about delivery dates. But we keep pushing and are ready to turn around fast when it hits our supply center.
In full transparency we think that it may be that deliveries end up happening in September rather than August but we promise we will pull every lever to attempt and hit our original delivery dates.

We also wanted to thank you all for the great feedback on the PDF rulebook, we really appreciate the encouragement and are super happy with the reception it got. Don't forget to visit (1) The Wargame Spot | Facebook to see the people that are already fighting battles using the delivered PDF!

CLASH of Katanas PDF - DELIVERED!

We are glad to announce that the CLASH of Katanas PDF has been DELIVERED to your email (for all Samurai pledges and above). Two months before KS delivery date!
Thank you! This would not have been possible without your support and we especially would like to thank everyone that participated in playtesting and proofreading. I must say that we are extremely proud of the result and we hope you like it as much as we do.
On top of all the army lists, traits , equipment, character and scenarios, CLASH of Katanas hopes to really be an entry point into the unique world of Sengoku period Japan, with an extensive historical background section about the period by acclaimed author Terje Sollum. And with QRS codes linking to introductory videos about battles, clans and personalities, many of these created by Nick from "The Shogunate" youtube channel specifically for this book. (you can check out one of them in the sample page below)
We also have finished the design of the CLASH of Katanas traits card set (unlocked as a stretch goal and free for all Samurai pledges and above) and completed its first test print run...check them out!
Design phase is officially over. Now everything is off to print and miniatures are full in production. We are still tracking well for August delivery and are trying to ensure shipping and logistics do not delay us at the end. But now you can start immersing yourself into the Sengoku Jidai history and gameplay without delay!

Hey CLASHERS!
Book is almost finished! It should be going to print next week...on track for our August delivery! We hope to send the PDF out in JUNE, and I must say it is looking mighty beautiful.
